A well-kept West London secret... revealed!
During this period of unprecedented cultural starvation, in addition to classical music radio stations and recorded performances available online, a few venues around the world live-streamed concerts from behind closed doors, some performers even doing the same from their own homes. A dozen or so miles west of here, the deconsecrated church of St Mary's Perivale, which dates back to the 13th (possibly 12th) century, has been uploading and more recently live-streaming concerts for several years. Under retired physician and keen amateur pianist and organist Hugh Mather, after a two-month lockdown hiatus (and an August holiday), the ‘virtual concerts’ (no audience) have been continuing. Further details here.
